University offers several types of scholarships and there are also external funding sources. Some of them apply only to Bachelor's and Master's degree students some of them only to PhD students and some of them to all. The list of the most common funding opportunities is given bellow. Excellent study result scholarship
APPLIES TO BACHELOR'S AND MASTER'S DEGREE STUDENTS
This scholarship is awarded to the student on the basis of excellent study results in bachelor's or master's degree programmes and the scholarship eligibility is evaluated every academic year. For a study average of less than 1.20, the scholarship is currently CZK 4 600 per month. For an average of 1.21 to 1.40, the amount is currently set at CZK 2 300 per month. The scholarship is paid for a maximum of nine months per each academic year. Excellent applicants can even get the scholarship from the beginning of the study. Please note, that the actual amounts and conditions can vary in each academic year.
START-UP scholarship
APPLIES TO FRESH BACHELOR'S AND MASTER'S DEGREE STUDENTS
This scholarship is awarded to the fresh enrolled bachelor's and master's degree students in programmes taught in English on the basis of application through the university information system. The scholarship is paid for a maximum of four months (first semester). The amount is up to CZK 4 600 per month. Please note, that the actual amounts and conditions can vary in each academic year.
Doctoral scholarship
APPLIES TO PHD STUDENTS
Entitlement to be awarded a doctoral scholarship pertains to students who are registered for study in the doctoral study programme in the full-time form of study. The doctoral scholarship is awarded and paid out for the duration of the standard period of study which is determined by the Study and Exam Rules for study in Doctoral Study Programmes of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. Currently the scholarship at FZP starts at 9 300 CZK/month and can rise up to 13 000 CZK/month provided all obligations are met.
Housing scholarship
APPLIES TO ALL STUDENTS
Once you become a student of CZU, you are entitled to a housing scholarship. The conditions for obtaining the housing scholarship are the following:
- You need to be a full-time degree student or Erasmus exchange student (1 or 2 semesters) enrolled at Czech University of Life Sciences Prague.
- You must be a holder of Czech bank account.
- Your permanent address must be outside of Prague.
- If you study another Czech university, you are allowed to apply for housing scholarship at only one university.
The students can apply to scholarship once they are enrolled. To apply for the scholarship, you must upload your Czech bank information into the University Information System (UIS) where you also process your application.
The accommodation scholarship is paid retroactively for the past three months: in January (for the period from October to December), in April (for the period from January to March) and in July (for the period from April to June). No scholarship is paid from July through September.
Conditions for granting accommodation scholarships are contained in the CZU Scholarship Rules.
Internal Grant Agency (IGA)
APPLIES TO MASTER'S DEGREE AND PHD STUDENTS
The mission of the IGA is to support the development of the scientific research activities of FZP doctoral and master’s degree students from the internal resources of the faculty. Based on the application the students can be awarded a grant with budget dedicated to their master's or doctoral thesis, e.g. for field trips, literature, special laboratory equipment, computers and accesories and limited scholarship. The call for proposals is usually announced in February, the student‘s projects are financed for 1-3 years. More information can be found at IGA webpage.
Student EXCHANGE PROGRAMMES
APPLIES TO ALL STUDENTS
Students can carry out part of their studies at a foreign university on the basis of bilateral agreements, which FZP has concluded with several host universities. In most cases, the costs of the student mobility are (at least partially) covered by support from the European Union. Many of our students spend at least one semester or a period of long-term practical training at a foreign university during their studies. In addition, students have the opportunity to expand their experience via their participation in research and other activities, as well as during data collection for their diploma and Bachelor thesis in various countries around the world.
Visegrad Scholarship Programme
APPLIES TO MASTER'S DEGREE AND PHD STUDENTS FROM POLAND, SLOVAK REPUBLIC, HUNGARY, ALBANIA, ARMENIA, AZERBAIJAN, BELARUS, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, GEORGIA, KOSOVO, MACEDONIA, MOLDOVA, MONTENEGRO, SERBIA AND UKRAINE
Scholarships are available for Master's and post-Master's studies in all different disciplines, in any language for up to 4 semesters. The deadline of the current call is April 15. You can even apply before official acceptance - only the proof of application is required at this stage or you can also apply during your study. More information can be found here.
