The member of our research team Professor Elizabeth Brabec has been appointed Interim Director of the University of Massachusetts Center for Heritage and Society (CHS), a multidisciplinary initiative to craft new approaches to heritage conservation and communication around the world.
The CHS builds on the University's exceptional and converging strengths in archaeology, cultural resource management, history, environmental science, landscape architecture and regional planning, European studies, Native American Indian Studies, Afro-American Studies, Classics, legal studies, and public policy to provide a unique research and educational platform. Some of the Center’s recent research topics include Multi-Cultural Landscapes and the Issues of Social Justice and Power, Authenticity and Integrity vs. Change in Living Landscapes, Tangible and Intangible Heritage in Cultural Landscapes or Sustainability in Cultural Landscape Management.
