Ambassador of the study program Environmental Engineering

What I love most about my program is the diversity of subjects we get to learn about. From biology, environmental chemistry, geology and more, to landscape ecology, global environmental issues and soil science. And that just in the first year! Knowing that one day, me and my classmates will be able to work on solutions to help and protect our environment, motivates me every day.

It is always a refreshing experience to have seminars and work outside on the fresh air or try out fun methods and procedures in the labs.

Apart from my studies at the FZP I was able to promote the faculty at schools in Spain. It is exciting to be studying with people from all around the world, coming together for one purpose – to help our planet.

Ambassador of the study program Environmental Engineering

I have been very close to nature since my early years, always lived close to it and knew all the names of the common flowers. During my secondary school years, I became more and more concerned with the environmental crisis and felt that my career path was in the environmental field. Especially afterwards, in my International Baccalaureate programme, the idea became clear that the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, especially the Environmental Engineering course was a match, since I knew I wanted to have a direct impact within the field and know I will be able to.

I personally love the university campus, it is truly full of life - nature and animals, as is the faculty - modern and full of amazing people.

Outside of the university life, I love cycling, skiing as well as many other sports, enjoy acting and naturally, spending time in the nature.

Rodrigo Manzanero Villoria

Ambassador of the study program Environmental Modelling

I graduated in Forestry Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain) in 2019, which consists of multidisciplinary training in sustainable planning, forestry management projects, and forestry engineering projects.

Later on, in 2022, I chose the Environmental Modelling MSc programme at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague because I wanted to enhance my knowledge in environmental applied sciences and modelling as well as programming. This master gives students the opportunity to practice both disciplines and combine them together with a definite purpose which is the approach to environmental problems occurring nowadays such as climate change, greenhouse effect, pollution, flood and drought events troughout subject areas like hydrualics and hydrology, always from a scientific point of view.

As it was nicely phrased by Dooge, we must continually remind ourselves that the goal is to understand and predict nature, not to demostrate our cleverness.

Michaela Porazíková

Ambassador of the study program Environmental Modelling

Graduated high school in field of Ecology and Environmental protection. The contents of the study were practical experience in the field, which enabled me to realize where I want to direct my studies. During these internships, whether it was an internship at the meteorological station Přimda, at the Botanical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Třeboň, or Nature and Landscape Protection Agency of the Czech Republic Český kras I recognized the necessity of the English language and programming skills. My dream was to study in English language. The Environmental engineering program at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences enabled me not only to study in English, but also to travel abroad through Erasmus. I am currently studying Environmental Modeling, which ideally combines theory with practice in various programming languages.

Ivanka Leporowski

Ambassador of the study program Environmental Engineering

Growing up in Latin America, I was always surrounded by the beauty of its nature. And as the years have passed since my childhood, I found a passion in protecting nature-reserved areas as well as helping my country, Guatemala, find sustainable ways to develop environmental awareness. When I was applying for university, CZU grabbed my attention in its program for Environmental Engineering. The selection of classes ranging from chemistry, biology, and ecology up to landscape architecture, water resources engineering, and ecotoxicology have allowed me to see the many fields of study and let me explore what I want to focus on. Not only this, but FŽP encouraged me to go on Erasmus to The Netherlands, expanding my perspective and knowledge on sustainability and what can be done to apply it in Europe and the rest of the world. Apart from this, the atmosphere at the CZU campus is amazing. No matter the season, walking around campus is always entertaining and unexpected. And in terms of my faculty, the inside of FŽP helps me study for my exams and allows breaks when they are necessary with its coffee machines and views of Prague. I have met a lot of very like-minded people who share my same interests, and it has been a very unique experience to share my studies with them.
