The Laboratory of Environmental Geochemistry II (2nd floor of MCEV II) is the ultratrace analytical laboratory.
The main types of analyses include qualitative and quantitative determination of inorganic pollutants and anions in liquid samples, speciation analyses of elements, determination of inorganic and organic carbon in liquid and solid samples, and analyses of the isotopic composition of metals. The laboratory also includes a preparatory facility, where analyte/matrix separation for isotope or for acidic decomposition of solid samples is performed.
Instrumental equipment: ICP-OES, ICP-MS, carbon analyzer, ionic chromatography in combination with mass spectrometry (IC/IC-MS), TRITON – thermal ionization mass spectrometer, microwave-assisted decomposition of solid samples.
The Laboratories of Environmental Geochemistry are equipped with modern instrumental techniques allowing employees and students to perform a wide range of experiments and analyses focused on the behavior of inorganic pollutants in the environment.
