The laboratory is equipped for the following analyses of soil samples:
- Determination of the physical properties of soil with disturbed and undisturbed soil samples (Kopecky rollers): soil moisture, absorbency, maximum capillary water holding capacity, soil bulk density, porosity, water retention capacity
- Determination of stoniness (network analysis)
- Determination of soil granularity (sedimentation areometric method, wet sieving)
- Determination of measured weight (pycnometrically)
- Determination of organic matter content (modified Tyurin Method)
- Measurement of soil aggregate stability (MWD, WSA)
In addition to soil samples analyses, the laboratory is equipped with a Norton Ladder Rainfall Simulator and four experimental drainage gutters with adjustable inclination. The impact of rain at any intensity (up to 120 mm/h) on surface runoff and erosion of the soil surface with an incline of up to 45° can thus be examined.
The equipment also includes a laser disdrometer for measuring the characteristics of rain (primarily kinetic energy and the size and speed of falling raindrops).
