It focuses on monitoring, description and modelling of processes in the environment, especially processes related to hydrosphere and atmosphere. It deals with both physically and numerically oriented modelling of environmental processes and statistical modelling. Typical areas of application are hydrology, hydropedology, hydraulics of surface and subsurface waters, meteorology and climatology, thermomechanics, etc. Within these areas, especially the study of the impacts of extremes, the estimation of the impact of climate change on environmental processes, the proposal of adaptation measures mitigating their negative impacts and the evaluation of the effectiveness of these measures are studied.
