Community Ecology & Conservation started a new collaboration with French researchers from the INRAE Ecodéveloppement at Avignon, in the heart of Provence.
During the breeding season 2023, Federico Morelli and Yanina Benedetti were involved in field-data collection, and studying the avian communities in a gradient of farmland intensity, in the French region of Provence Cote d'Azur. This historical province of southeastern France, characterized by rolling vineyards, olive groves, pine forests and lavender fields, is also an important hotspot for the conservation of several bird species.
The research activities focused on the main effects of different rural practices on biodiversity and surrogates of bird communities’ resilience.
