Field Practice including excursions, soil and water sampling, and field measurements took place at our experimental site near Trhové Dušníky from 3 to 5 June 2024. Students learned the basics of fieldwork and got geological background information about the area of Příbram, historically contaminated by former mining and smelting activities. The practice is a part of long-term research and monitoring of this highly metal-polluted area.
This year we hosted our colleagues from the Department of Spatial Sciences who tested remote sensing techniques to estimate metal pollution.
