Environmental and Isotope Geochemistry Group
The Lead Group of Environmental and Isotope Geochemistry at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, CZU Prague, focuses on various aspects of environmental geochemistry and hydropedology. The Group belongs to the Center for Water, Soil and Landscape at CZU. Its primary interests include:
- Adsorption processes and modeling
- Chemical stabilization and phytostabilization of metal(loid)s in soils
- Reactive-transport modeling
- Tracing contamination sources and biogeochemical processes using various isotope systems (Pb, Cd, Ni, Cr, Zn)
- Using biochar as a sorbent and for improving water retention in soils
The Group uses laboratories of the Department of Environmental Geosciences equipped with:
- TIMS Triton plus (Thermo)
- ICP MS iCAP Q (Thermo)
- ICS-5000+ HPIC System Dionex (Thermo) (IC-ICP MS)
- ICP OES 720 Series (Varian)
- TOC-L CPH C analyzer (Shimadzu)
- Benchtop XRD system D2 PHASER XE-T (Bruker)
- Laser particle size analyzer ANALYSETTE 22 NanoTec (Fritsch)
- Automatic titration system TitroLine Alpha Plus Titrator (Schott)
- Microwave system Anton Paar Multiwave PRO etc.
