Abstract:
As a modern approach how to describe metal behaviour in more detail after innovatively treated soils (using biochar and Fe-oxides), modelled Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn transports will be implemented using HYDRUS and HP1/HP2 programs (PC-Progress, CZE) for this case. In more detail, soil column experiments under laboratory conditions and field (in situ) experiments will be set up for the three contrasting metal contaminated soil sites. Firstly, soil hydraulic properties and dispersivity of Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn transport will be optimized and water flow/metal transport will be simulated using HYDRUS software packages. Subsequently, multifunctional and newly developed hydrogeochemical model codes HP1/HP2 will be used for the simulation of metal behaviour in soils with and without previously mentioned immobilizing agents’ soil treating. All main geochemical processes will be considered for this case. In final step, all acquired findings obtained from column experiments will then be applied for the field (in situ) experiments simulations using HP1/HP2 and HYDRUS-3D Professional programs.
