Abstract:
Beetles of family Silphidae have a potential to refine post mortem interval estimation (PMI) for bodies at advanced stages of decay. Project aims to translate modern knowledge into methodologies that can be applied in practice. The methodologies will standardize process of collecting, transporting, identifying and storing samples of the developmental stages of this family and their breeding. These are necessary for the application of highly accurate thermal summation models for estimating PMI.
