Abstract:
The project pursues one key goal, with estimated delivery in 2023; concretely, it aims to: Develop a complex methodology for the management of fishpond wetlands that ensures its role as an optimal breeding habitat for waterbirds dealing with recent climatic changes. Following component and integrated goals will precede the delivery of the key goal: (1) Scientific papers: long-term changes in waterbird numbers driven by site-specific variables; reproductive performance of the pilot species and adaptive feeding behaviour of rearing females. (2) Species distribution maps: changes in species distribution dealing with land cover and climatic variables (3) Methodology for monitoring of waterbird breeding population (4) Intern. conference: Fishpond management, clim. change and biodiversity.
