Provider: Technology Agency of the Czech Republic
Programme: Environment for Life (Call 7)
Project coordinator: The Research Institute for Soil and Water Conservation
Project leader: doc. Ing. Michal Kuráž, Ph.D.
Project manager: Ing. Petr Bašta

Total project budget: CZK 14,171,249 (FES: CZK 5,800,000)

Abstract:
The aim of this project is to refine the method of CN run-off curve numbers, which is a simple and widely used rainfall-runoff model used to estimate the volume of direct run-off and the peak flow caused by torrential rain. The update should mainly consist in extending the database of CN runoff curve numbers for individual crops and agrotechnology used. Furthermore, map materials of hydrological soil groups will be processed, including newly included transition groups. Within the solution there will also be the quantification of hypodermic run-off as an individual component of direct run-off. The results and outcomes of the main parts will be projected into the hydrological model.
