Abstract:
The aim of the project is to manage irrigation systems with advanced technologies that predict crop water requirements related to the onset of water stress. The research is based on testing and application of smart tools: artificial intelligence methods, remote sensing data, estimation of soil water dynamics and IoT-based sensor measurements. Using smart tools, irrigation will be managed at pilot sites where meteorological data, soil moisture and water potential will be measured. The output of the project is a software platform that will allow smart irrigation to be predicted and controlled by artificial intelligence and implemented in any environment. The research will increase the efficiency of water resource use and contribute to environmental adaptation to climate change.
