Abstract:
The project aims to provide the most accurate quantification of the landscape water balance of the Czech Republic with emphasis on actual evapotranspiration (ETa) and sustainable water resources security under climate change in the 21st century as a fundamental basis for the authorities performing river basin management and water planning under the Water Act. Subobjectives include (i) determination of evaporation from water bodies and littoral ETa through insitu measurements, historical data and remote sensing methods (RS); (ii) in-situ and RS measurements of landscape ETa; (iii) hydrological modeling of future climate ETa; (iv) assessing adaptation measures impacts on ETa and water balance; (v) clarifying and unifying terminology to avoid misinterpretations in water management.
