Annual Meeting of the German Ecological Society (GFÖ)

This year’s 53rd Annual Meeting of the German Ecological Society (GFÖ) took place in Freising, hosted by the Technical University of Munich. Of course, we actively participated once again!  The scientific program went very well, allowing us to establish further exciting collaborations!!! As always, our non-scientific program did not disappoint either! Michal K. kicked things off by keeping with the tradition of driving through a no-entry zone. There was also badminton on campus and during evenings, we kept discussing over a beer.

Our contributions to the GFÖ:

Positive effects of wildflower strips on invertebrate organisms and ecosystem services above and below ground (Michal Knapp – talk)

Overwintering of ground-dwelling arthropods in wildflower strips: do agricultural practices matter? (Alfredo Venturo – talk)

Optimizing biodiversity support of solar parks implemented in open landscape (Filip Harabiš – poster)

Detecting co-occurrences of an invasive local species through citizen science: the case of Harmonia axyridis in Argentina (Baudino Florencia – poster)

Effects of sexually transmitted fungal parasite on mating behavior of ladybird hosts (Michal Řeřicha – poster)

Effects of larval starvation and adult mating on Harmonia axyridis life history traits and haemolymph parameters (Michal Řeřicha & Bára Žabová – poster)

The abstract book can be found here.
