Our latest article on the biology of ladybirds has been published in Communications Biology. We demonstrate that a heatwave during the pupal stage has irreversible effects on the immune system functioning and the fertility of ladybirds. However, resistance to extreme temperatures can change further during the adult's life (it is not fixed by what the ladybird experienced as a pupa). Such findings can significantly help to predict the impacts of climate change on insects. You can read the full article here: https://www.nature.com/articles/s42003-023-05196-0.
