The Erasmus study stay experience in Thessaloniki, Greece was an incredibly enriching and memorable journey. The academic program for master students starts in early October and extends up to the middle of February. The Faculty of Forestry and Agriculture offers a range of courses that are primarily taught in Greek, but there are a few courses taught in English as well. The professors are knowledgeable and passionate about their fields of study, and most of them are willing to share their insights and experiences with students. For most of the courses the students are asked to write long essays and do a presentation. The natural beauty of Greece is breathtaking, and the country is home to several unique forest ecosystems. The courses provided by the university are focused on forests’ management and conservation. The students in Thessaloniki are friendly, warm, and welcoming and the Greek people are nice and helpful. The university is located in close proximity to the city center and the sea, which is an added bonus. I had the chance to enjoy beautiful sunsets by the sea.
